The 50pf note from Beverungen, illustrated above, portrays a Jewish
person ('David') being shaved. It says;
Those were the days
"Oh, David, what on earth's to do?
They've only shaved the half of you.
No, it really isn't very funny,
today you can't make any money.
It's your turn to see how it goes,
now you're the one led by the nose."
The note comes in 3 colours, blue, brown and olive-green. The coloured side showing 'David' being shaved is the same on all 3 notes.
